Buffalo Target Shooters Association
The
Buffalo Target Shooters Association (BTSA) is primarily a handgun
club, based in Calgary, Alberta, and is a member group of the Alberta Provincial Rifle Association (APRA).
BTSA
members use the Steve Johnson Range (SJR) in northeast Calgary,
operated by the APRA, and oversees the “Action Ranges” (100/200m
and 50m ranges) at the APRA's Homestead facility in Kananaskis
country. (see Ranges section)
The Steve Johnson range is open to use by all APRA member club
members and is rated for handguns of any calibre, black powder
rifles and .22 rimfire rifles. No centrefire rifles or shotguns
may be shot at this range. Hours of opening are set by the APRA
Range Coordinator and can be found on the calendar on the APRA
website. (www.albertarifle.com)
The range facilities we oversee at Homestead are configured for
handgun, any calibre, black powder, rimfire rifle, shotgun
and centrefire rifle, up to .338 Lapua. Access to this range
is key-controlled and limited to those members of the BTSA
and other APRA member clubs approved by the BTSA Executive.

answer most of your questions about the club and how to become
a member. Details on how to become a member of BTSA can be found
on the Club Application page. Please read the FAQ and other pages
